About PNG to Text
This tool reads the text in a PNG screenshot or image and turns it into text you can copy. Most PNGs with text in them are screenshots, since PNG is the default screenshot format on Windows, Mac, and phones. Upload one, paste it with Ctrl+V, or snap a photo, and you get text back in seconds.
A flat, evenly lit screenshot is the easiest image for this tool to read. The engine reads it twice, once as uploaded and once after a clean-up pass, and keeps whichever result it trusts more. Any number it is not fully sure about gets a second, closer look.
A photographed page still works, though it will not come out quite as accurate as a flat screenshot. The same clean-up pass straightens and sharpens it before the tool reads it.
Pick up to 3 languages before you tap Extract Text, from a searchable list of more than 100. It covers Hindi and plenty of non-Latin scripts, not just European languages. Add more than one when a screenshot mixes languages, like an app with English menus and Hindi text.
Your PNG never leaves your device. The tool reads it and writes the text right in your browser, so no server ever sees your image or your words. The only network traffic is a one-time download of the reading engine (about 4MB) and the data for your chosen languages, cached after first use.
Is it free, and does the text have a watermark? Yes, it is free, with no signup and no watermark on the text or the download.
